Two (Bible numerics)

Division, Union, Twice

Division of 2 becoming 1

The first time the word “two” shows up in the bible its dealing with division of the light to rule the day and the light to rule the night (Gen.1:16). All throughout life and the bible we see the separation of two becoming one. Day and night make one day. Man and woman make one marriage. Old and new testament make one bible. One chromosome has 2 strands of DNA in a double helix. Gentiles and Jews coming under 1, the body of christ. If the 2 are not compatible with what God intended them to be then they are to be kept separate. Homosexuality is an abomination because its the opposite of Gods design on what 2 are to be in agreement of. “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?-Amos 3:3

So the number two has to do with 2 that are in agreement coming together as 1 and 2 that are opposites that are to be kept separate.

Genesis 1:16 (16/2=8) (8/2=4) (4/2=2) (1+1+6=8)… (8/2=4) (4/2=2)

“And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.”

God divided the light(1) from darkness(2) that makes up 1 day.

Genesis 1:4 (4/2=2)

“And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.”

Genesis 2:22-23-God takes the rib from Adam and made Eve.

“And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.”

Ephesians 5:31-joined unto his wife, one flesh

“For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.”

Notice God speaks with a pattern of 2 in scripture.

Genesis 2:22 says “bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh:”

In Isaiah he says “precept must be upon precept” “line upon line, line upon line;” and “here a little, and there a little:” You cant read one section of the bible and understand it all. You have to read a little bit here and there to get a better understanding. God deals with people in different ways in different time periods. We aren’t saved by works like the jews were in the old testament. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”-Ephesians 2:8

In 2 Timothy 2 it says to rightly divide the word of truth.

Isaiah 28:9-11

“Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:”

2 Timothy 2:15-divding the word of truth

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

God divided our body in 2

The human body has 206 bones and is divided into 2 systems.

Axial Skeletal system:skull(cranium), vertebral column, rib cage, (bone thorax)

Appendicular Skeletal system: rest of the bones in the body

  • 2 hands with 2 arms
  • 2 feet with 2 legs
  • 2 lungs
  •  Cranial Cavity = contains the brain. Spinal Cavity:contains spinal cord

God speaks twice

Job 33:14- God speaketh once, yea twice

“For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.”

Psalm 62:11-God speaks twice..(1+1=2) (6/2=3)

“God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.”

Moses came down from the mount Sinai twice. The first time Moses came down he threw the two tables (the law) and they broke.

Exodus 32:15-1st time

“And Moses turned, and went down from the mount, and the two tables of the testimony were in his hand: the tables were written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other were they written.”

Exodus 32:19

“And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses’ anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount.”

1 Corinthians 11:24-this is my body, which is broken for you

“And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.”

First time Jesus came he came under the law. Moses brought the law.

Galatians 4:4-5

“But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.”

The 2nd time Moses came down from the mountain his face “shone while he talked with him.” This is talking about light and we know when Jesus (the light) comes back for the 2nd time he will come back with glory. “When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.”-Colossians 3:4

Exodus 34:29-2nd time

“And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him.”

Paul relates the face of Moses in 2 Corinthians 3:7 with the glory of the Lord.

2 Corinthians 3:7-8

“But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: 8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?

And again in 2 Corinthians 3:13……

2 Corinthians 3:13-16

13 And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:

14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.

15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.

16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.

Jesus face in Matthew 17:2…..

Matthew 17:2

“And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.”

Born Again/twice

John 3:6-7

7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.”

Revelation 11:3- 2 witnesses during the tribulation

“And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.”

Deuteronomy 17:6

“At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.”

2 Corinthians 13:1

“This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.”

Revelation 1:5-Christ the faithful witness

“And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,”

New heaven and earth

Revelation 21:1

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.”

Hebrews 10:9

“Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.”

Man with Blue Eyes

1 Corinthians 15:1-4

15 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

1 John 5:13

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”
