The LORD hath Rejected them…

Reprobate silver shall men call them, because the Lord hath rejected them. – Jeremiah 6:30

Most all Christians would agree that when someone dies without believing upon Jesus Christ as their saviour, then that person is damned to hell forever. There is no longer any chance of receiving the free gift of eternal life when someone dies. The Bible says it is appointed unto men to die once and after death comes the judgement.

Hebrews 9:27-28

27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

The dead in Revelation 20 are the people who died without believing on the name of Jesus. All of the dead will stand before God and be judged according to their works. Whosoever was not found in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire, which is the second death. ↓↓↓

Revelation 20:10-15

10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

The Bible teaches that all who’s name is not found in the book of life will be cast into hell forever. It becomes to late at this point to be saved. Just as when the flood began to cover the earth and the door of the ark was shut and it became to late for anyone to get on board. The ark is symbolic for salvation and the door is symbolic for Jesus Christ. There is only one way to be saved just as there was only one door on the ark. In John 10 Jesus says that He is the door and whoever enters in the door will be saved.

John 10

1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.

9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

John 14:6

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Genesis 7:16-17

16 And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the Lord shut him in.

17 And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.

Clearly it becomes to late for someone to be saved when they die without Jesus. However, the Bible also teaches it can become to late for some people to be saved even before they die. One very obvious example of this is in Matthew 12 when the Pharisees blasphemed the Holy Ghost. The bible says blasphemy against the Holy Ghost will never be forgiven. ↓↓↓

Blasphemy against the Holy Ghost

Matthew 12:31-32

31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

It became to late for those Pharisees to receive salvation (while they were still living) once they blasphemed the Holy Ghost. Mark 3:30 explains what blasphemy against the Holy Ghost is…

Mark 3:28-30

28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:

29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.

30 Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.

Blaspheming the Holy Ghost is when you say Jesus has an unclean spirit or demonic spirit. The Pharisees told Jesus that he was casting out demons by the power of the devil.

Matthew 12:22-24

22 Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.

23 And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?

24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.

Taking from Gods word = No Hope of being Saved

The bible teaches that once someone adds to Gods word then God will add unto that person the plagues found within his Word. If someone takes away from Gods word, then God will take their name out of the book of life. It becomes impossible for that person to ever get saved. ↓↓↓

Revelation 22:17-19

17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Those who take the mark of the beast have no hope of ever being saved….↓↓↓

Revelation 14:9-11

9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

So far we’ve established that the Bible teaches when someone dies without believing upon Jesus Christ, it becomes to late for that person to get saved. We have also read serval different ways it can become to late for someone to get saved while they’re still living. The first way we read about is when someone blasphemes the Holy Ghost. There is no forgiveness for blasphemy against the Holy Ghost (Matthew 12). The second way someone can forever loose the chance of getting saved is by adding to and/or taking from the Word of God (Revelation 22). The third way we’ve read about is those who worship and receive the mark of the beast (Revelation 14) have lost all hope of ever getting saved.

Are these 3 examples the only ways someone could loose the chance of ever getting saved while still alive? No…

What does the word ‘REPROBATE’ mean??

The word reprobate simply means rejected. When reading the Bible we must allow the Bible to define itself. We need to get the definition of reprobate from the Bible itself. The first time the word ‘reprobate’ is used in the Bible is found in Jeremiah 30:6…

Reprobate silver shall men call them, because the Lord hath rejected them. – Jeremiah 6:30

— These people are called reprobate silver because the LORD has rejected them

When we get the context of Jeremiah 6, we can understand more about these ‘reprobates’.

27 I have set thee for a tower and a fortress among my people, that thou mayest know and try their way.

28 They are all grievous revolters, walking with slanders: they are brass and iron; they are all corrupters.

29 The bellows are burned, the lead is consumed of the fire; the founder melteth in vain: for the wicked are not plucked away.

30 Reprobate silver shall men call them, because the Lord hath rejected them.

I’m sure there are some people reading this probably saying by now, “The bible says whosoever believes will be saved”…

And I agree 100%. Whosoever believes will be saved BUT the bible teaches that it’s impossible for reprobates to believe.

John 12:37-40

37 But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:

38 That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?

39 Therefore THEY COULD NOT BELIEVE, because that Esaias said again,

40 He hath blinded their eyes, and [hardened their heart;] that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

**Notice verse 39 says they could not believe and verse 40 says God hardened their heart.

Keep this in mind and go back to the Old Testament to compare this teaching with the story of Moses and Pharaoh. ↓↓↓

Exodus 7:2-5

2 Thou shalt speak all that I command thee: and Aaron thy brother shall speak unto Pharaoh, that he send the children of Israel out of his land.

3 And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt.

4 But Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you, that I may lay my hand upon Egypt, and bring forth mine armies, and my people the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments.

5 And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I stretch forth mine hand upon Egypt, and bring out the children of Israel from among them.

God tells Moses before he goes down to Egypt that He would hardened Pharaohs heart and that Pharaoh would not hearken unto him. In verse 4 God tells us why he does this to Pharaoh and he says that he may lay his hand upon Egypt (destroy Egypt), and bring his people out by great judgements. Pharaohs heart was hardened by God because God used his hardened heart to destroy himself and his kingdom. When you read this story you will notice that first God tells Moses that he is going to harden Pharaohs heart, then the Bible over and over again tells us that Pharaohs heart is hardened. Then the Bible starts saying that Pharaoh hardened his heart.

Exodus 8:15

But when Pharaoh saw that there was respite, he hardened his heart, and hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.

Exodus 8:19 — tells us that Pharaohs heart is hardened

Exodus 8:32— Tells us Pharaoh hardened his heart

Exodus 8:32

And Pharaoh hardened his heart at this time also, neither would he let the people go.

Exodus 9:7

And Pharaoh sent, and, behold, there was not one of the cattle of the Israelites dead. And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the people go.

Pharaoh didn’t let the people go because his heart was hardened. The Bible says Pharaoh hardened his heart which means he rejected the Word of God. When you throw a rock at a steel door, the rock is going to bounce off the door because the door is hardened. If the door was soft, then the door would absorb the rock. The steel door rejects the rock from absorbing into it because the door itself is hardened. Apply this illustration with someone with a hardened heart. Someone who has a hardened heart rejects sound bible doctrine. They constantly reject the truth no matter how many times they are told. Pharaoh continued to reject the command of God which led to him and his kingdom being destroyed.

Then we’re told in Exodus 9:12 that God hardens Pharaohs heart…↓↓↓

And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had spoken unto Moses.

— Over and over again the Bible tells us that God hardened the heart of Pharaoh.

Exodus 10:1

And the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh: for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might shew these my signs before him:

Exodus 10:20

But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go.

Exodus 10:27

But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not let them go.

Exodus 11:10

And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh: and the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go out of his land.

First Pharaoh hardens his heart, then God hardens his heart. First Pharaoh rejected Gods Word, then God rejects him.

Having a hardened heart is coupled with unbelief but don’t misunderstand what Im saying. Not all unbelievers have a hardened heart, but all who have a hardened heart are unbelievers.

40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

Acts 19:9

But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.

2 Kings 17:14

Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God.

Mark 6:52

For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.

Pharaoh was a reprobate. The Pharisees became reprobates.

— So how do people become reprobates?

By rejecting God’s word over and over again and ultimately becoming hardened to all of God’s word. Void of understanding, haters of God, corrupt, and vile workers of iniquity.

ROMANS 1:21-32

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

GOD GAVE THEM UP THROUGH THE LUSTS OF THEIR OWN HEARTS ↓↓↓

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

They changed the truth of Gods word into a lie…they rejected the truth…In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. — John 1:1

GOD GAVE THEM UP UNTO VILE AFFECTIONS ↓↓↓

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

GOD GAVE THEM OVER TO A REPROBATE MIND ↓↓↓

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Below are the attributes of reprobates according to Romans 1 ↓↓↓

Romans 1:18 — ungodliness and unrighteousness

Romans 1:21 — They don’t glorify God, neither are they thankful, became vain, and their heart was hardened.

Romans 1:22 — They profess to wise and become fools

Romans 1:23 — change the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image….

Romans 1:24 —  given up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:…

Romans 1:25 — changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator,…

Romans 1:26 — God gave them up unto vile affections:…women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:…

Women changing the nature use into that which is against nature is sodomy…↓↓↓

Romans 1:27—

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust on

one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

As a result of being given over to a reprobate mind, these reprobates do unnatural sins. They commit vile, unnatural sins, that’s not a common temptation for man. One of these sins is the sin of sodomy. Men with men and women with women. Read Romans 1:27 again. .

Romans 1:28 — they did not like to retain God in their knowledge…

Romans 1:29 — filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

Romans 1:30 — Backbiters, HATERS OF GOD, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

NOTICE, in verse 30 it says these people are Haters of God. If someone is a hater of God, do you really believe that person can be saved? The obvious answer is no…

Romans 1:31 — Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

Romans 1:32 — know the judgment of God, they which commit such things are worthy of death, and have pleasure in doing them

2 Corinthians 13:1-8

13 This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.

2 I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not spare:

3 Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you.

4 For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.

5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

Except ye be reprobates because reprobates can’t be saved!

6 But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.

Saved people cannot become reprobates ↑↑↑ because reprobates can’t believe — read John 12:37-40

7 Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates.

Paul says “though we be as reprobates” because to reprobates we are reprobates. Reprobates reject Christians just as they reject God and as a result of their rejection, God rejects them.

8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.

2 Timothy 3

1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Notice verse 7 says they are never able to come to the knowledge of truth ↑↑↑

8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

Reprobates concerning the faith ↑↑↑

Titus 1:13-16

13 This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;

14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.

15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.
