13, 18 and 666 (Bible Numerics)

Why do the numbers thirteen, eighteen and six hundred and sixty-six carry negative connotation? The cashier rings up your total to $6.66 and you quickly grab a pack of chewing gum to bump it up to $7.73. Friday the 13th is considered a spooky day and so is Halloween which falls on October 31st.

It’s very important when studying number theory in relation to Bible symbolism (bible numerics) to understand that numbers take on multiple meanings just as words do. There is nothing inherently evil with the numbers thirteen, eighteen and six hundred and sixty-six. For example, if a gunman shoots down thirteen people, obviously the evil lies within the murderer, not the number thirteen. The number thirteen has never orcharstated the death of anyone. Although you might be saying “duhhh” right now, many people will get caught up in the number itself rather than focusing on the pattern. Numbers are a tool used to detect patterns; but numbers don’t always guarantee a pattern. Just as computers and other machines work off pattern recognition the human mind develops off patterns. What helps us learn how to walk as humans? Patterns. What helps us learn numbers and language? Patterns. What helps us become skillful in any area? Making a pattern of practice.

In order to associate symbolism with a number there must be strong correlations between the number and the symbol but there must also be exceptions. The exceptions / ‘outliers’ support the rule because without the exceptions there would be no need of symbolism. If thirteen always surrounded evil with zero exceptions, then you would come to the logical conclusion that thirteen itself is evil. We of course know this isn’t true. Just because someone is born on the thirteenth day of the month doesn’t mean that person will grow up to be wicked and if your total is $6.66 at the grocery store that doesn’t mean you’re gonna get in a car crash on your way home. Numbers help us detect patterns but numbers do not dictate the patterns.

Understand the difference between this type of Bible study and pagan numerology. Many Christians will write the study of numbers in the Bible off as numerology and these same people couldn’t even tell you the definition of ‘numerology’. It’s as though these people think numbers come from the devil and anyone who’s intrigued with studying numbers is automatically an occultist. The devil is a counterfeiter and he counterfeits Gods word. The fourth book of the Bible is called ‘Numbers’ and all throughout the Bible God gives us the number of many different things. Just with the numbers 1-10 there’s over 5,000 mentions so to claim that the study of numbers within the Bible is numerology is to call God an occultist…which is blasphemy.

Dictonary.com definition for ‘numerology’: the study of numbers, as the figures designating the year of one’s birth, to determine their supposed influence on one’s life, future, etc.

Merriam Dictonary defines ‘numerology’ as the study of the occult significance of numbers.

Where is the source of number symbolism? I believe the King James Bible has had a huge influence on the symbolism attached to numbers and more specifically the infamous verse, Revelation 13:18.

Revelation 13:18

18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

The Bible very plainly associates the number 666 with the end times Antichrist, stating it as “his number…”…therefore we conclude that Six Hundred and Sixty-Six is symbolic for the Antichrist in the Bible.

Anyone who’s read the book of Revelation knows that the number seven comes up over and over again. My goal with this ‘Bible numerics’ series is to show how the entire Bible is full of number patterns.

13 is the smallest emirp number (a prime number when reversed gives you another prime). 13 — 31

“Dragon” (in reference to Satan) is mentioned 18 times total in the KJV

13 mentions of “dragon” are in Revelation.

13 is the 6th prime number

“serpent”

“The serpent” is in reference to Satan in the Bible

13 x 3 = 39

39 books in the Old Testament.

“leprosy”
occurs 39 times in the KJV.

The first 19 mentions of leprosy are found in Genesis 13. Leprosy is also symbolic for ‘sin’ in the Bible.

Genesis 19 — God destroys Sodom and Gormorrah.

Back to Revelation 13:18

— There are 31 words in Revelation 13:18.

31 is the reflection of 13

Revelation 13:18 starts out “Here is wisdom.”

31 chapters in the book of Proverbs (a book focused on wisdom and understanding)

— Solomon wrote the Book of Proverbs and the Bible says he was the wisest man of his time…notice verse 31.

1 Kings 4:29-32

29 And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.

30 And Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt.

31 For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: and his fame was in all nations round about.

32 And he spake three thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand and five.

Proverbs 1

1 The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;

2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;

3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

4 To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

5 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

6 To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.

7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Solomon acquired 666 talents of gold in one year

1 Kings 10:14

14 Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold,

2 Chronicles 9:13

13 Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and threescore and six talents of gold;

Solomon spent 13 years building his house and his house had two brass pillars of 18 cubits in length. Coincidence? Maybe you won’t still see it as a coincidence when you connect the following dot. There’s only two mentions of ‘six hundred and threescore and six‘ in the Bible. The first mention is the amount of gold Solomon received in one year after the building of the temple. The second mention is in reference to the antichrist who we know will rebuild the temple and declare himself as God. The connection between Solomon and the antichrist is freemasonry.

1 Kings 7:15

15 For he cast two pillars of brass, of eighteen cubits high apiece: and a line of twelve cubits did compass either of them about.

13 + 18 = 31

666‘s connection to 18 and 36

6 + 6 + 6 = 18

18 + 18 = 36

— The 36th triangular number is 666

8-36-666-triangles

“rebellious”
occurs 36 times in the KJV.

“sin”
occurs 336 times in The Old Testament of the KJV

“death”
occurs 234 times in 218 verses in The Old Testament of the KJV

13 x 18 = 234

234 + 432 = 666

Revelation 13:18 starts out “Here is wisdom.”

“wisdom”
occurs 234 times in 222 verses in the KJV.

2 Chronicles 9:13

Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and threescore and six talents of gold;

Ezra 2:13

13 The children of Adonikam, six hundred sixty and six.

Nehemiah 7:13

The children of Adonikam, six hundred threescore and seven.

2 x 13 = 26

7 x 13 = 91

26 + 91 = 117

117 x 2 = 234

234 + 432 = 666

Nimrod was the 13th from Adam and the first Antichrist

There was 13 disciples before Judas betrayed/ rebelled against Jesus

Only two people are referred to the Son of Perdition; Judas Iscariot and the antichrist.

Judas Iscariot — contains 13 letters

Judas betrayed Jesus in John 13 and we’re told the devil entered him in the same chapter. John 13 ends by Jesus telling Peter that he would deny him 3 times.

John 13

1 Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.

2 And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him;

John 6:66

66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

The first mention of 13 in the Bible is in context of people rebelling.

Genesis 14:4

4 Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled.

John 13:26

26 Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.

13 + 13 = 26

3 x 13 = 39

39 books in the Old Testament

Judges 13:1

13 And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the Lord; and the Lord delivered them into the hand of the Philistines forty years

2 Timothy 3:13

13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

Proverbs 2:13

13 Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

Jeremiah 2:13

13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

Judges 2:13

13 And they forsook the LORD, and served Baal and Ashtaroth.

Deuteronomy 13:13

13 Certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known;

The 13th chapter of the Bible has 18 verses and within this chapter God first reveals his plan to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. The 13th time Sodom is mentioned in the Bible is Genesis 18:16 and it’s in this chapter where Abram pleads God not destroy Sodom if there be any righteous within the city… and there was none.

Genesis 13

1 And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south.

2 And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.

3 And he went on his journeys from the south even to Bethel, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Hai;

4 Unto the place of the altar, which he had make there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of the Lord.

5 And Lot also, which went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents.

6 And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together.

7 And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram’s cattle and the herdmen of Lot’s cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land.

8 And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren.

9 Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left.

10 And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar.

11 Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other.

12 Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom.

Notice Genesis 13:13 ↓↓↓

13 But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the Lord exceedingly.

— Exceedingly sinful doesn’t sound like all sin is equal to me.

Romans 7:13

13 Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.

14 And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:

15 For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.

16 And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.

17 Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.

18 Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the Lord.

Chapter 19 God destroys Sodom…

Genesis 19:13

13 For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the Lord; and the Lord hath sent us to destroy it.

Isaiah 13:19

19 And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees’ excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.

Deuteronomy 23:18

18 Thou shalt not bring the hire of a whore, or the price of a dog, into the house of the LORD thy God for any vow: for even both these are abomination unto the LORD thy God.

Leviticus 18:22

22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

And again in Leviticus 20:13…

Leviticus 20:13

13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood [shall be] upon them.

Romans 1:2613 x 2 = 26

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

2 Peter 2:62613 x 2 = 26

6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

13 words written upon the whores forehead

Revelation 17:5

5 And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth.

In 1 Kings 7:1, the Bible says Solomon spent 13 years building his own house. I find it interesting how the last verse in chapter 6 gives the amount of time Solomon spent on building the temple of God, which was 7 years…

1 Kings 6:38

38 And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So was he seven years in building it.

Solomon spent 6 more years building his own house than he did building the house of God.
